The King's Daughter by Barbara Kyle
This book focuses on the time when Queen Mary (aka Bloody Mary) ruled England. She has many people against her marrying a spaniard and there was much bloodshed on both sides. The story was fast-paced and accurately portrayed historical events.
Unfortunately, most of the book focuses on the people around Queen Mary and the "heretics". We get a brief glimpse of the Queen and even though all of the changes in England are taking place because of her and her choices, we do not see into her inner sanctum.
The character I enjoyed the most was Isabel who was so strong and risked so much for those she loved.
